Seven of Miami’s trendiest restaurants prepared creative hors d’oeuvres for 250 beautiful people at Downtown Dining hosted March 8 by Ocean Drive Magazine and PARAMOUNT Miami Worldcenter outside the Sales Gallery.
Each epicurean taste paired with a Woodford Reserve crafted whiskey cocktail. Guests even got to mix their own Manhattans at the invitation-only evening event.
Apeiro Kitchen & Bar made lovely lamb sliders paired with Santorini Old Fashioned cocktails. The rustic yet progressive Mediterranean restaurant is located in Midtown Miami.
Cipriani brought the cod — Baccala Mantecato with fried polenta — paired with Acropolis Swizzle. The Downtown Miami restaurant belongs to the world-renowned Cipriani brand started in 1931 with Harry’s Bar in Venice.
Fooq’s had lamb gyros on toasted naan, tzatziki, mint, cilantro, dill, tomatoes, scallions and mixed greens paired with Fooq’s Sour. Half-French, half-Persian New Yorker restaurateur David Foulquier opened the eatery a year ago in downtown. The global cuisine uses all locally sourced produce.
Harry’s Pizzeria provided its famous mouthwatering meatballs paired with Hellas Manhattan. Chef Michael Schwartz opened the neighborhood eatery in the Design District in 2011.
Mandolin Aegean Bistro’s flaky spanakopita paired with Sazerac. The restaurant, which opened in the Design District three years ago, is the marriage of cultures of co-owners Anastasia Koutsioukis of Greek roots and her husband, Ahmet Erkaya of Turkish background.
ToroToro smoked swordfish topped with plantain chips paired with Island Julep. Chef Richard Sandoval brought the restaurant to the downtown Miami InterContinental as a twist on a contemporary steakhouse with Pan Latin flavors.
Verde shrimp ceviche with mango and kumquats paired with Verde Collins. The waterfront restaurant and bar is located inside the Pérez Art Museum Miami.
Guests also enjoyed petits fours inside the Sales Gallery while admiring the model of PARAMOUNT Miami Worldcenter, particularly the amenity deck, and Ocean Drive’s February issue featuring actress Malin Akerman on the cover.
Attendees included Ocean Drive Magazine Publisher Courtland Lantaff, Associate Publisher Michele Addison and Editor-in-Chief Jared Shapiro as well as OneWorld Properties CEO Peggy Fucci and VP of Marketing Vivian Cepero and PARAMOUNT Miami Worldcenter developer Dan Kodsi and his wife, Bru.
Ocean Drive Magazine featured the exclusive event on its Parties page and will print a pictorial recap in a future issue on its Shot On Site pages. Downtown Dining generated 161,100 print, online and social media impressions.
